Company History |
Governmental Data services (GDS Inc.) out of Keller, Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex), has been working
with Texas property tax offices since 1988. In 1990, we introduced our first Tax Billing and Collections
System, one of the first to operate on personal computers.
Since then, GDS has been enhancing its software and adding products and services, which allow customers to operate
at peak efficiency. GDS currently supports 25 offices, which collect taxes for over 50 jurisdictions. GDS clients
range in size from 3,000 accounts to over 100,000 accounts and include two law firms.

Our Services |
The GDS NewTAX Tax Billing and Collection system is the most comprehensive and functional property tax billing
system in Texas. In addition to application software, the full range of services include: tape/file transfer
processes, statement and tax roll printing and mailing, network design and implementation, and internet services.
Internet services comprise two basic areas: online tax payments processing and internet tax record access.
GDS has clients using one or a combination of both services.
GDS provides internet credit card payments at no charge to the taxing jurisdiction. The GDS Online Payment Service
is simple to use and the taxpayer (and tax office) knows exactly what is being paid. Taxpayers select the jurisdiction
from a pull-down list and can access the tax record by Owner Name, Property Address or Account Number. The taxpayer
simply selects the year(s) to which he or she wishes to apply the payment. These payment controls are the fundamental
aspect of the GDS online payments service. A nominal fee is charged to the person making a payment, which pays
the credit card discount fees, transaction fees, and system maintenance costs. Payments are automatically deposited
into the jurisdiction's bank account.
GDS also provides internet access to Property Ownership/Description, Tax Values/Exemptions, Other Amounts Due,
Tax Levy, and Payment History. Finding the tax record is easily accomplished by Owner Name, Address, Geo Number,
or Account number. Taxpayers, title researchers, mortgage companies, attorneys or anyone needing access to tax
records can look them up without calling the tax office.
